Chennai: Prama India has entered into a strategic partnership with Mindgrove Technologies to deploy indigenously designed semiconductor chips in CCTV surveillance cameras and advanced video security systems, marking one of the largest commercial integrations of Indian-designed silicon to date.
The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will see Prama India integrate Mindgrove’s proprietary Vision System-on-Chip (SoC) across its commercial surveillance and security product portfolio.
The initiative represents a significant step in the commercialization of India’s semiconductor ecosystem by taking domestic chip innovation from laboratory validation to large-scale deployment in mission-critical infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Mindgrove’s Vision SoC—its second semiconductor chip developed with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme – will be deployed across Prama India’s video surveillance and security solutions.
The partnership also encompasses joint design and development activities, with Mindgrove providing certification and regulatory support to ensure compliance with stringent customer and market requirements.

Commenting on the development, Shashwath TR, Co-founder and CEO of Mindgrove Technologies, said, “For Indian fabless semiconductor companies, credibility is built when products leave the lab and enter sustained deployment.
This engagement validates our Vision SoC as a production-ready platform capable of meeting performance, reliability, and scale requirements in real-world security systems.”
The collaboration comes at a crucial time for India’s semiconductor ambitions as the country intensifies efforts to reduce dependence on imported chipsets in critical sectors such as security and surveillance.
Through the integration of Indian-designed silicon into deployed hardware systems, Prama India and Mindgrove Technologies aim to strengthen domestic technology sovereignty while enhancing supply-chain resilience.
Commenting on the partnership, Ashish P. Dhakan, Managing Director and CEO, Prama India, said, “At Prama, we believe the future of intelligent security will be driven by the convergence of artificial intelligence, semiconductor innovation, and trusted digital infrastructure.
Our collaboration with Mindgrove marks an important milestone in advancing indigenous semiconductor capabilities for next generation video security solutions.
“As India progresses towards becoming a global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing powerhouse, partnerships such as this are critical to realizing the vision of ‘Designed in India, Made in India, Trusted by the World.’
By combining Mindgrove’s semiconductor design expertise with Prama’s extensive experience in video security, product engineering, compliance, and large-scale deployments, we aim to develop world-class solutions that are secure, scalable, and globally competitive.”
“Beyond technology development, this collaboration will help build strategic capabilities within India’s semiconductor ecosystem, foster innovation, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and support the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in critical technology sectors.
Together, we are committed to accelerating the adoption of indigenous technologies and creating long-term value for customers, industry, and the nation.”
With the Vision SoC now moving towards sustained high-volume deployment, the partnership with Prama India further reinforces Mindgrove Technologies’ transition from design validation to commercialization.
The collaboration is also expected to create a strong foundation for expanding Mindgrove‘s silicon portfolio across additional applications and enable Indian and global hardware manufacturers to build secure, high-performance systems powered by indigenous semiconductor technology.
